Factores que inciden en la decisión de ahorro de los microempresarios

Abstract

Periodos de reducción de ingresos como los generados por la pandemia del Covid19, resaltan las bondades de que los microempresarios ahorren. Utilizando los datos de la Encuesta de Micronegocios del DANE de 2019, se estimaron modelos probit con los que se identificaron las variables asociadas con la decisión de que un micronegocio en Colombia ahorre y el vehículo seleccionado para hacerlo. Se encontró que la educación financiera, la asociatividad empresarial, el uso de internet para realizar transacciones y el monto de ventas tienen una correlación positiva con la probabilidad de que un microempresario ahorre en un mecanismo formal. Adicionalmente, variables como la aceptación de medios de pago electrónicos y la formalidad empresarial también favorecieron el uso de instrumentos de depósito formales.
