Läuft die US-Konjunktur der Wirtschaftsentwicklung in Europa voraus?

Abstract

In den letzten Monaten wurde aufgrund der globalen Turbulenzen die Frage nach der Bedeutung der US-Konjunktur für europäische und asiatische Länder wieder vermehrt diskutiert.Während manche Ökonomen von einer weiterhin relativ starken Abhängigkeit von der USKonjunktur ausgehen, wollen andere in den letzten Jahren eine Abkoppelung beobachtet haben. Wie Daten zur Aussenhandels- und Investitionsverflechtung zwischen europäischen Ländern und den USA zeigen, sind die wirtschaftlichen Beziehungen zu den USA in den meisten Ländern enger geworden. Auch die konjunkturelle Verflechtung mit den USA hat bei manchen europäischen Volkswirtschaften zugenommen, bleibt aber weiterhin verhältnismässig schwach. Im Weiteren lässt sich eine Tendenz zur Synchronisierung von US-amerikanischen und europäischen Konjunkturschocks beobachten.
