Abstract

Cybersecurity has emerged as a critical factor in enhancing corporate resilience, particularly with the increasing prevalence of Internet technology. This study utilizes data from Chinese listed companies spanning the years 2014–2023 to investigate the effects and mechanisms through which cybersecurity influences corporate resilience. The findings indicate that cybersecurity significantly contributes to improving corporate resilience. In the samples of non-state-owned, large-scale, large industry shares and eastern region, cybersecurity plays a significant role in improving the corporate resilience. Mechanism test shows that cybersecurity can enhance corporate resilience by alleviating financing constraints, improving operational efficiency, enhancing innovation capabilities. In the maturity stage of development, reinforcing corporate resilience can enhance companies’ dynamic capabilities. This conclusion enriches theoretical research regarding the influence of cybersecurity on corporate resilience and offers valuable insights for decision-making aimed at leveraging cybersecurity opportunities to bolster risk management capacities within organizations.
