La elasticidad de oferta laboral de Frisch en economías con alta movilidad laboral

Abstract

En este documento estimamos la elasticidad de oferta laboral de Frisch en un mercado laboral con significativa movilidad laboral. Lo hacemos usando el estimador de efectos fijos de MaCurdy(1981) con corrección por sesgo de selección a-la-Heckman. La pendiente de oferta laboral queda identificada utilizando variables instrumentales relacionadas con los cambios a lo largo del tiempo de los rendimientos a la educación y con la experiencia, y considerando al tamaño de la empresa como una variable cercana a la demanda de trabajo. Utilizando datos del módulo panel de la Encuesta Permanente de Empleo en Lima Metropolitana hallamos que la elasticidad de Frisch es aproximadamente 0.38, valor que se relaciona con un mercado laboral donde los salarios son relativamente flexibles. Asimismo, esta elasticidad resulta creciente durante la década del 2000.
