Pendeln in Hamburg

Der Weg vom Wohn- zum Arbeitsort und zurück gehört für viele Deutsche zum Alltag. Pendeln ist dabei ein Merkmal arbeitsteiliger Gesellschaften und das Ergebnis der Wahl des Wohnortes. Die Auswirkungen sind gravierend: Pro Jahr werden insgesamt große Strecken zurückgelegt, die mit hohem Zeitaufwand, Auswirkungen auf die Umwelt sowie Stress für die pendelnden Personen verbunden sind. Damit gehen sowohl einzel- als auch gesamtwirtschaftliche Kosten einher. Die vorliegende Studie zeigt einige Entwicklungen des Pendelns in Deutschland in den letzten Jahren sowie den Status quo im Jahr 2012 auf Grundlage neuerer Befragungsergebnisse des Mikrozensus auf. Dabei wird auf die wichtigsten Kennzahlen in Deutschland eingegangen und die Situation der Pendler in Hamburg aus zwei unterschiedlichen Perspektiven beleuchtet, und zwar zum einen als Vergleich mit den Pendlern in anderen deutschen Großstädten und zum anderen als Bestandsaufnahme der Pendler, die regelmäßig in die Stadt Hamburg kommen. Unter Berücksichtigung dieser Daten und künftiger Trends werden allgemeine Empfehlungen abgeleitet.
