Abstract

This paper documents the construction of PESCA-NL (Pathfinder for External Supply Chain Analyses of the Netherlands), a dataset and online dashboard on the external supply-chain dependencies of Dutch trade. It combines harmonized bilateral trade statistics for 2017-2023, where re-exports are systematically separated from domestic exports, with an input-output mapping inferred from confidential Dutch firm-level microdata, and enriches these building blocks with product-level and partner-country indicators covering supplier concentration, relationship stickiness, governance, geopolitical alignment, logistics, and environmental risk. A composite input-supply risk index condenses the underlying dimensions into a single score, while all sub-indicators remain accessible.
