Dinámica del Desempeño Académico

Abstract

Este trabajo se ocupa del progreso, luego del ingreso, de los estudiantes de la cohorte 2000 de la Facultad de Ciencias Económicas de la Universidad Nacional de La Plata. Si bien hay antecedentes de medición del rendimiento de los estudiantes de la Facultad y sus factores explicativos, se trata de estudios realizados en base a encuestas a alumnos regulares en un momento del tiempo. De esa forma hay distintas cohortes y distintos planes de estudio. En cambio, en este trabajo los resultados corresponden al seguimiento de los logros académicos de todos los estudiantes que comenzaron a cursar primer año en febrero de 2000. Dos de los principales resultados son que a diciembre de 2001, a dos años de iniciados los estudios, el 53% de los ingresantes no había aprobado ninguna materia y que el desempeño en el ciclo básico es un determinante importante de los logros académicos en los períodos siguientes. Se estudian factores explicativos del rendimiento estudiantil.
