Abstract
Smart cities are described as "intelligent" or "connected" cities in which innovation plays a central role. Environmental innovation represents a form of proximity innovation that directly affects citizens' daily lives. However, citizens vary in their sensitivity to the eco-responsible arguments put forward in territorial communication campaigns. This paper aims to understand the relationships between citizens' eco-responsible sensitivity, the perceived value, and the adoption of new urban mobility concepts (smart mobility), such as shared bicycles, e-scooters, electric bikes and scooters, eco-friendly public transport, electric car-sharing services, ride-sharing, and urban carpooling. The first section examines environmental innovation in smart cities and focuses on the specific dimension of smart mobility, defining innovative urban mobility solutions (IUMS) available to citizens. The second section develops an explanatory model of the adoption of these new mobility solutions in relation to users' eco-responsible sensitivity. The third phase involves data collection through an innovative online quanti-quali format, which combines quantitative structure with qualitative verbatim collection from a larger sample than traditional offline qualitative research. The drivers of IUMS adoption will be modeled using R software. The recommendations will focus on behavioral strategies that public authorities should prioritize in order to activate and guide the use of eco-responsible urban mobility solutions.
