¿Quién se queda atrás?: resultados iniciales del estudio Niños del Milenio: tercera ronda de encuestas en el Perú

Abstract

Este informe presenta los resultados iniciales de la tercera ronda de encuestas en el Perú del estudio Niños del Milenio, llevada a cabo desde fines del año 2009 hasta principios del 2010 con niños de dos grupos de edad, llamados cohortes. El informe de Niños del Milenio proporciona una amplia reseña de algunos indicadores de pobreza infantil, así como los cambios en la vida de los niños entre las dos primeras rondas de encuestas, realizadas en los años 2002 y 2006, y esta tercera ronda. Los datos se presentan principalmente para todo el grupo etario y, en la mayoría de los casos, están agrupados por género, niveles socio-económicos, localidad (rural / urbana) y la lengua materna de la madre (como indicador del grupo étnico). Así, estamos en condiciones de hacer comparaciones entre los niños del grupo de mayor edad (cohorte mayor) –que en el 2002 (primera ronda) tenían 8 años–, y el grupo de menor edad (cohorte menor) –que tenía esa misma edad en el 2009 (tercera ronda)– para destacar los cambios que ocurrieron en sus comunidades durante ese tiempo.
