La regulación de los cargos de interconexión en telefonía fija para Colombia y sus perspectivas con el Tratado de Libre Comercio

Abstract

El tema de los cargos de interconexión para telefonía fija en Colombia, es uno de los principales asuntos debatidos en la negociación del Tratado de Libre Comercio con Estados Unidos, en los capítulos relacionados con telecomunicaciones. Su importancia se debe a que involucra inversiones y comercio transfronterizo de los operadores nacionales e internacionales de ambos países. El propósito del presente documento es comentar el impacto que tendría para los operadores nacionales competir con los operadores de Estados Unidos en telefonía local, tomando en consideración la regulación existente en el sector y las posibles medidas que tendrían que tomarse para no perjudicar a ninguno de los operadores involucrados en el comercio de servicios en telefonía fija.
