Abstract

Was wird aus Kriegsökonomien, wenn Kriege enden? Nina Engwicht untersucht die Entwicklung illegaler Märkte im Spannungsfeld von Reform und fragiler Staatlichkeit am Beispiel des berühmt-berüchtigten Diamantenmarktes in Sierra Leone. Sie blickt aus einer sozialwissenschaftlichen Perspektive auf den illegalen Markt in der Postkonfliktgesellschaft und zeigt, dass andauernde Illegalität die Friedenskonsolidierung nicht notwendig gefährdet. Nina Engwicht, Dr. phil., ist wissenschafltiche Mitarbeiterin an der Friedensakademie Rheinland-Pfalz.
