Kurze Beschäftigungsdauer dominiert den österreichischen Arbeitsmarkt

Abstract

In einem Vergleich mit den rechtlichen Regelungen des Arbeitsmarktes der USA sieht das österreichische Arbeitsrecht sicher eine stärkere Regulierung vor. Trotzdem ist der österreichische Arbeitsmarkt von einer hohen Dynamik geprägt. Die durchschnittliche Dauer eines 1997 beendeten Beschäftigungsverhältnisses ist mit 1,8 Jahren im internationalen Vergleich sehr niedrig. Auch die relativ geringe Dauer aufrechter Beschäftigungsverhältnisse (5,9 Jahre) bestätigt die hohe Mobilität der Arbeitskräfte. Diese Mobilität unterscheidet sich zwischen den Wirtschaftsklassen, während zwischen dem Mobilitätsverhalten von Männer und Frauen nur geringfügige Unterschiede zu beobachten sind.
