Abstract

This research explores into earlier studies on the supply chain models used in recovering from wildfires. This study focuses on the procurement, logistics, and warehousing processes that are being developed and integrated into the humanitarian supply chain. The report recommends ways to improve 2025 California-like recovery operations from a wildfire by drawing on earlier models of disaster logistics. It underlines procurement, logistics, and warehousing importance in securing the necessary resources in a disaster within the shortest time possible for delivery and distribution. The paper explains how strategic planning, prepositioning supply, route optimization, and selecting the optimal location for the warehouse may help reduce the reaction time while minimizing waste to ensure overall successful recovery operations. The findings are aimed at strengthening continuous efforts by providing specific recommendations to improve the effectiveness of the wildfire disaster relief supply chain.
