Uwarunkowania akceptacji kart płatniczych w handlu i usługach detalicznych w Polsce

Abstract

Głównym celem badań było poznanie determinant akceptowania kart płatniczych przez podmioty handlowo-usługowe w Polsce. Dane empiryczne uzyskano w ramach dwóch reprezentatywnych badań ankietowych, obejmujących przedsiębiorstwa i konsumentów. Uwarunkowania decyzji podejmowanych przez handlowców w zakresie rozpoczęcia akceptowania kart płatniczych zbadano z użyciem modelu logitowego. Wyniki badań wskazały, że duża skala działalności przedsiębiorstwa, mierzona liczbą pracowników oraz placówek, a także organizacja w ramach sieci handlowej bardzo silnie, pozytywnie wpływają na szansę akceptacji kart płatniczych. Czynnikiem, który sprzyja takiej decyzji, jest także deklarowane zainteresowanie podmiotu obsługą płatności mobilnych, świadczące o skłonności do innowacji. Bardzo ważną determinantą okazała się być presja ze strony konkurentów, ponieważ w niektórych branżach przedsiębiorstwa akceptują karty jako oczekiwany standard obsługi klienta. Wykazano, że potencjalny popyt ze strony konsumentów w lokalizacjach działania przedsiębiorstwa był istotnym czynnikiem zwiększającym prawdopodobieństwo akceptowania kart przez podmiot. Stanowi to empiryczne potwierdzenie występowania, postulowanego przez teorię, wpływu pośredniego efektu sieciowego na uczestników rynku kart płatniczych.
