Eigenarbeit, Nebenerwerb und Haupterwerb : Versorgungsstrategien privater Haushalte in der Bundesrepublik Deutschland

Abstract

"Für den weiten Bereich der formellen und informellen Ökonomie gibt es in der Bundesrepublik Deutschland kaum empirisch fundierte Informationen, die vor allem aus der Sicht der Individuen und privaten Haushalte unterschiedliche wirtschaftliche Aktivitäten thematisieren. Als Beitrag hierzu geht der vorliegende Artikel der Frage nach, wie in individuellen Versorgungsstrategien auf formelle Marktaktivitäten sowie informelle Aktivitäten zurückgegriffen wird. Konkret werden ökonomische Marktaktivitäten zum Einkommenserwerb (Erwerbsarbeit explizit unterschieden nach Haupt- und Nebenerwerb) sowie im Haushalt erbrachte marktnahe ökonomische Aktivitäten (Eigenarbeit) analysiert und neben einzelnen Aktivitätsmustern insbesondere auch Kombinationen von Eigen- und Erwerbsarbeit (verbundene Versorgungsstrategien) in Umfang und Struktur untersucht. Es zeigt sich, daß über 9% der Bundesbürger nebenerwerbstätig sind. Noch verbreiteter ist Eigenarbeit: mehr als jeder vierte Bundesbürger (27%) stellt marktnahe ökonomische Güter und Dienste durch Eigenarbeit zu Hause, über die "normalen" Haushaltstätigkeiten hinausgehend, her. Neben Aktivitätsprofilen in Eigenarbeit und Nebenerwerb werden der Zeiteinsatz und das erzielte Einkommen bzw. die erzielte Ersparnis für Haupt-, Neben- und Eigenarbeit untersucht. Insgesamt ist festzuhalten, daß Eigenarbeit und Nebenerwerb relativ weitverbreitete Versorgungsaktivitäten sind, die durchschnittlich monatlich 160,- bzw. 300,-DM erbringen und mit einem zeitlichen Einsatz von 6 bzw. 5 Wochenstunden auch einen zeitlich relativ bedeutenden Teil des Handelns privater Haushalte einnehmen. Mikrodatenbasis ist die Sfb3-Nebenerwerbstätigkeitsumfrage 1984 des Sonderforschungsbereichs 3 (Sfb3) "Mikroanalytische Grundlagen der Gesellschaftspolitik" der Universitäten Frankfurt und Mannheim."
