Come cambiano gli equilibri nella societ? che invecchia. alcune riflessioni sul caso italiano in prospettiva comparata

Abstract

L?invecchiamento demografico dei paesi industrializzati rappresenta una vera e propria novit? antropologica che influenza in maniera pervasiva ("from cell to society") tutti gli aspetti della societ?. Il paper propone una breve rassegna ragionata dei principali indicatori strutturali riferiti all'impatto dell'invecchiamento su ambiti quali il sistema di welfare, il mercato del lavoro, la partecipazione sociale, le pensioni ed i consumi. Nel corso della disamina emerge chiaramente come l?Italia si trovi oggi ad uno stadio di invecchiamento eccezionalmente avanzato, specialmente quando confrontato con le caratteristiche del fenomeno negli altri principali paesi industrializzati. I dati presentati forniscono lo spunto per alcune riflessioni sul sistema della ricerca sull?invecchiamento nel nostro Paese, di cui si evidenziano opportunit? e rischi, prima di concludere con la presentazione di alcune proposte per rafforzare la competitivit? di questo settore strategico a livello internazionale
