Abstract

El presente documento ofrece un estudio de lasafectaciones del huracán Alex en México en 2010,considerado como el de mayor destrucción en México, enel medio siglo reciente. Para ello, se aplica unametodología basada en el análisis insumo-productomultirregional. Con el modelo se calculan los costoseconómicos directos e indirectos, tanto en la región deimpacto del fenómeno, como en el resto del mundo. Losresultados del estudio muestran que los costos indirectosrepresentan 20% de los costos totales y que, de talescostos indirectos, 15.6% ocurrió en el extranjero,principalmente en Estados Unidos, y 84.4% en elterritorio nacional.
