DEA-based benchmarking of water and wastewater Utilities: A comprehensive literature review

Abstract

•We conduct a comprehensive literature review of DEA in the water/wastewater sector.•The replicable research methodology narrows 2523 studies to 163 relevant papers.•The analysis uncovers trends, emerging topics, and international collaborations.•Our framework advances regulatory benchmarking and utility performance evaluation.
