FinTech and corporate digital technology innovation

Abstract

Considering the framework of financial friction and dynamic capability theories, this study analyzes data from A-share listed firms in China (2010–2022). It finds that financial technology significantly improves digital technology innovation by reducing financial friction between banks and firms and optimizing the allocation of resources for digital technology innovation. The effects are particularly pronounced in low-financialized firms, high-tech companies, non-state-owned enterprises, and manufacturing firms.
