Industries in Focus: Travel Industry

Abstract

For the travel industry, 2020 was a very difficult year. Several lockdowns in Germany and other countries led to a de facto total standstill in the industry. Mobility within Germany and across borders was cut back significantly in some cases. Air traffic was also massively curtailed. This article takes a look at the industry and in particular at developments over the past year. In the most recent Business Survey, companies show optimism with a view to the summer season.
