Abstract

Two periods compose the thought of Joan Robinson about the neoclassical theory of international trade: 1946-1950, then the 1970's. During the first period, the analysis of Joan Robinson was focused on the application of the Keynesian revolution to this branch of economic doctrine. During the second period, in addition to her pioneering deconstruction of capital theory, Joan Robinson has been persuaded to some of the "new left" critiques of orthodoxy, such as the vacuity of utility theory in the context of the global environmental crisis and the urgency of eliminating mass poverty.
