Estabilizaciones inflacionarias en el contexto latinoamericano: una revisión de los casos de Argentina, Brasil y Bolivia

Abstract

En este documento se describen las principales características de los programas de estabilización antiinflacionarios implementados en Argentina, Brasil y Bolivia. En particular, se examinan las distintas experiencias macroeconómicas haciendo hincapié, por un lado, en las políticas de ingresos e indexatorias y, por otra parte, en las políticas monetarias y fiscales. Se encuentran discrepancias en la gradualidad de las correcciones en los distintos programas, así como también en los enfoques adoptados por las autoridades. Estas variables son determinantes a la hora de evaluar el éxito o fracaso en las estabilizaciones.
