Human Health Risks Assessment of Some Heavy Metals in Papyrocranus Afer from Banegbe River

Abstract

Heavy metals are known to cause deleterious effects on human health throughout the food chain. This study aimed to assess the heavy metals concentration in fish and potable water in Banegbe River and Ekpan Pond. Also, the Human health risks from the consumption of heavy metal-contaminated fish from the river were evaluated. To this aim, fish and water samples were collected at three different points in the river.
