Abstract

Die Lissabon-Strategie der Europäischen Union (EU) betont die Bedeutung von Bildung und Ausbildung für die ökonomische und soziale Entwicklung Europas. Noch immer ist die EU von ihren selbst gesteckten Zielmarken bei der Bildung (Bildungs-Benchmarks) weit entfernt - dies gilt auch für Deutschland als bevölkerungsreichsten Mitgliedstaat. Mittlerweile hat die EU zwar ihre Bildungs-Benchmarks überarbeitet, alte Probleme aber bleiben bestehen.
