Der Einfluss der Champions League auf den Marktwert eines Bundesligaklubs und das (Transfer-)Verhalten des Managements

Die vorliegende Studie untersucht, inwiefern die UEFA Champions League den Marktwert eines teilnehmenden Fußball-Bundesligateams und das (Transfer-)Verhalten der beteiligten Vereinsverantwortlichen beeinflusst. Ziel ist dabei, die Erkenntnisse aus einer vom Autor zuvor durchgeführten, umfangreichen Fallstudienanalyse quantitativ-empirisch zu überprüfen. Es wird gezeigt, dass Mannschaften insbesondere von Wertsteigerungen bereits in der Vorsaison im Kader befindlicher Spieler profitieren und mit signifikant höheren Marktwerten in Champions League-Spielzeiten starten. Die Ergebnisse weisen zudem auf ineffizientes Transferverhalten der Klubmanager hin, wenn ihnen durch die Champions League zusätzliche finanzielle Mittel zur Verfügung stehen. Darüber hinaus wird festgestellt, dass die Klubs den erreichten höheren Marktwert nur halten können, wenn sie sich regelmäßig für die Champions League qualifizieren.
