Ausbildung, Erwerbsphase, Renteneintritt: Demografischer Wandel und optimale Zeitallokation im Lebenszyklus

Abstract

Dieser Beitrag analysiert die Determinanten der individuellen Ausbildungs- und Renteneintrittsentscheidung. Unter Verwendung eines OLG-Modells wird gezeigt, wie die Individuen mit ihren Investitionen in Humankapital sowie mit der Entscheidung über den Zeitpunkt des Renteneintritts reagieren, wenn sich a) die heutige Entlohnung des Faktors Humankapital ändert, b) die zukünftige Entlohnung des Humankapitals ändert, c) die antizipierte Rente sinkt, und d) der erwartete Beitragssatz zur Sozialversicherung steigt. Unsere Analyse legt nahe, auf den demogra- .schen Wandel primär mit einer Reduktion des Rentenniveaus zu reagieren, denn im Vergleich zur Alternative Beitragserhöhung werden die Individuen eine längere Lebensarbeitszeit sowie eine vermehrte Humankapitalbildung wählen.
