Potere e stabilità nei rapporti di fornitura della grande distribuzione britannica

Abstract

A partire dalla metà degli anni sessanta si è verificato in tutte le economie occidentali un graduale cambiamento nella composizione e nel funzionamento dei canali di distribuzione dei beni di consumo. L'evoluzione si è manifestata attraverso una maggiore concentrazione orizzontale in tutti i livelli dei canali, uno sviluppo del marketing negli stadi di distribuzione intermedi (trade marketing), un maggiore impiego di risorse tecnologiche nelle attività commerciali, un aumento della varietà delle relazioni verticali in seguito allo svilupparsi di forme organizzative non tradizionali (joint ventures, alleanze strategiche, franchising, ecc.). Dalla ricerca emerge che è possibile attribuire la stabilità dei rapporti di approvvigionamento fra i grandi distributori e i loro fornitori a una serie di elementi, la cui presenza richiede livelli crescenti di integrazione fra i partner. Since the mid-sixties in all western economies a gradual change in the composition and functioning of the distribution channels for consumer goods occurred. The evolution emerged as an increased horizontal concentration in all levels of the channels, a development of marketing activities at the intermediate stages of distribution (trade marketing), an increase in the variety of vertical relationships with the development of non-traditional organizational forms (joint ventures, strategic alliances, franchising, etc..). The research results show that it is possible to attribute the stability of relationships between large retailers and their suppliers to a number of factors, the presence of which requires increasing levels of integration between partners.
