Abstract

La ecuación de gravedad es el modelo de referencia en el comercio internacional y la herramienta más utilizada para el análisis de políticas comerciales. No obstante, a pesar de sus sólidas bases teóricas, su notable éxito empírico, su atractivo intuitivo y su facilidad de aplicación, la ecuación de gravedad no ha sido debidamente presentada ni ha recibido la divulgación que merece en aras de facilitar y potenciar la investigación por parte del alumnado universitario y personas que se inician en la literatura sobre el tema. El objetivo de este capítulo es presentar el modelo de gravedad del comercio al alumnado universitario y traducir la ecuación teórica de gravedad a un modelo econométrico que pueda emplearse en una amplia variedad de proyectos de investigación y análisis de políticas económicas.
