Sectores, mercados y control corporativo en el desempeño de las empresas públicas en América Latina y el Caribe

Abstract

Este paper forma parte de un proyecto de investigación que analiza el rol de las empresas estatales en el desarrollo sostenible de América Latina y el Caribe (ALC). El estudio, que abarca 216 empresas en 12 países, evalúa sus características, tamaño, impacto económico y desempeño financiero. Se destacan sectores clave como energía, finanzas y bienes y servicios, donde las empresas muestran gran variabilidad en resultados y funciones. La heterogeneidad en sus condiciones institucionales, control y descentralización refleja los diferentes senderos políticos y regulatorios de cada país.
