IED, capital humano y términos de intercambio: un enfoque de efectos de umbral

Abstract

El presente trabajo empírico estudia la hipótesis de diferencias en capital humano entre economías planteada por Lucas (1990), siguiendo a Borensztein et al. (1998) que su hipótesis plantea que a partir de un umbral mínimo de capital humano los países son más proclives a recibir mayores flujos de inversión extranjera directa, cuando reciben un shock positivo en los términos de intercambio. Empleando la metodología de Hansen (1999) se realizan estimaciones de umbrales para una muestra de 120 países para el período 2000-2019, utilizando la variable índice de capital humano, encontrando un umbral para el valor de 62,01.
