Exploring Poverty Traps: Insights From A Content Analysis Of Contemporary Economic Research

Abstract

The presentation of theoretical aspects related to the determinants of poverty contributes to an in-depth understanding of the relationship between development and poverty. Given that poverty can be a self-perpetuating situation, I considered it necessary to carry out a detailed analysis of its determinants, both at the level of the individual and at the level of society as a whole. Thus, the paper aims to provide a perspective into how these determinants can influence poverty levels and limit economic development. In accordance with the literature, this paper highlights that poverty is the result of a combination of interconnected factors, which can generate a vicious circle that is difficult to break in the absence of a holistic view of this phenomenon. Solving it requires complex and strategically directed interventions.
