Auswirkungen der Personenfreizügigkeit auf die Schweiz

Abstract

Seit Mitte 2002 ist das Abkommen zum freien Personenverkehr (FZA) zwischen der Schweiz und der EU in Kraft. Damit ist es möglich, die Folgen, die sich aus diesem Vertrag auf den einheimischen Arbeitsmarkt ergeben, mittels ökonometrischer Methoden näher zu untersuchen. Im Folgenden werden die Ergebnisse für das Einwanderungsverhalten ausländischer Arbeitskräfte, die Arbeitslosigkeit und die Lohnentwicklung dargestellt und diskutiert. Aufgrund der schmalen empirischen Basis – für den Zeitraum nach der Inkraftsetzung des FZA liegen auf Jahresbasis nur fünf Datenpunkte vor – sind die Resultate allerdings mit Vorsicht zu interpretieren.
