The impact of blockchain financial technology transformation on supply chain disruption risks

Abstract

Against the backdrop of unprecedented challenges facing global supply chains, this paper explores the impact of blockchain financial technology transformation on supply chain disruption risks based on data from Chinese A-share listed companies from 2013 to 2023. The research finds that blockchain financial technology transformation significantly reduces enterprise supply chain disruption risks, with particularly pronounced effects in small and medium-sized enterprises and firms with high supply chain concentration. Further investigation reveals that blockchain technology primarily enhances supply chain resilience by reducing corporate cost stickiness, and management teams with financial professional backgrounds significantly amplify the positive effects of this technological transformation. This research not only provides solid empirical support for the application of blockchain technology in supply chain risk management but also offers important reference for enterprise digital transformation strategy formulation and policy makers' improvement of fintech regulatory frameworks.
