Abstract

•Mining companies respond differently to Local Content Policies (LCPs).•Companies with international investment origin embrace LCPs as part of their CSR and SLO.•The World Bank's IFC is a major driver behind LCP commitment.•Companies without international investment background do not visibly commit to LCPs.
