Terms of Trade und Trading Gain in Deutschland und der Schweiz: – Ein Ländervergleich

Abstract

Das preisbereinigte Bruttoinlandsprodukt gilt als der umfassende Maßstab für die wirtschaftliche Leistung einer Volkswirtschaft. Seit geraumer Zeit gibt es in der Wirtschaftsstatistik einen weiteren Schlüsselindikator, nämlich das im Inland entstandene Realeinkommen. Die beiden Indikatoren unterscheiden sich um den Terms-of-Trade-Effekt. In diesem Artikel wird eine Komponentenzerlegung des im Außenhandel erzielten Trading Gain vorgestellt. Der Trading Gain einer Volkswirtschaft kann in einen Beitrag der Terms of Trade und in einen Beitrag des realen Wechselkurses zerlegt werden. Die Ergebnisse für Deutschland und die Schweiz zeigen, dass der Veränderungsbeitrag der Terms of Trade zum inländischen Realeinkommen sowohl für Deutschland als auch für die Schweiz im Zeitraum 1996 bis 2016 aufgrund des vergleichsweise höheren Gewichts im Schnitt deutlich größer als der Beitrag des realen Wechselkurses ist.
