Insurer Exposure To Extracontractual Liability Under State Unfair Claims Settlement Practices Acts: An Empirical Test

Abstract

Litigation against insurers for bad faith actions has increased. The authors examine how the exposure of insurers has changed with particular emphasis on the impact of Unfair Claims Settlement Practices Acts.
