Influence of Human Capital Ecosystem on Growth of Leather Manufacturing Small and Medium Enterprises in Kenya

Abstract

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to investigate the influence of the human capital ecosystem on the growth of leather manufacturing small and medium enterprises in Kenya. Methodology: The study used a mixed research design that is both qualitative and quantitative. Data was collected using questionnaires and secondary data collection sheet. The collected data was analysed by use of SPSS software program version 23. The quantitative data in this research was analysed by descriptive statistics using the mean and standard deviation. A regression model was adopted to test the relationship between the variables. Findings: The findings show there is a strong relationship between Human capital ecosystem and growth of SMEs in leather manufacturing in Kenya. Unique Contribution to Theory, Practice and Policy: SMEs should invest in capacity building of their staff through short and long-term programmes so as to make them experts and competent in their various fields of specialization.
