Po co nam historia myśli ekonomicznej?

Abstract

Celem tego artykułu jest próba odpowiedzi na dwa pytania. Pierwsze pytanie wynika bezpośrednio z jego tytułu, a drugie – ściśle się z tym wiążące – dotyczy przyczyn degradacji roli historii myśli ekonomicznej w kształceniu ekonomistów. Zdaniem autora to, jaką rolę w sferze badawczej i dydaktycznej będzie odgrywać historia myśli ekonomicznej, będzie zależeć zarówno od samych badaczy zajmujących się tą problematyką, jak i od reszty środowiska ekonomicznego. Ci pierwsi muszą regularnie stawiać sobie pytanie, jak historyczna edukacja ma wyglądać we współczesnym świecie: co powinno być wykładane oraz w jaki sposób i za pomocą jakich narzędzi. Ci drudzy powinni szczerze akceptować to, że w naukach społecznych przeszłość, teraźniejszość i przyszłość wzajemnie się przenikają i rola historii w naukach ekonomicznych jest całkiem inna niż w takich naukach jak np. fizyka czy chemia.
