Die Verschiedenheit der europäischen Lohnregime und ihr Beitrag zur Eurokrise: Warum der Euro nicht zum heterogenen Unterbau der Eurozone passt

Abstract

Die Teilnehmerländer der europäischen Währungsunion verfügen über höchst unterschiedliche Regime der Lohnfindung. Diese Unterschiedlichkeit leistete einen eigenständigen Beitrag zur Auseinanderentwicklung der mitgliedsstaatlichen Lohn- und Preisniveaus und damit zu den realen Wechselkursverzerrungen, unter denen der Euroraum seit Einführung der gemeinsamen Währung leidet. Um dies zu zeigen, werden die nominalen Lohnauftriebe von zwölf Euroländern während der ersten zehn Euro-Jahre von 1999 bis 2008 analysiert. Weder ein etwaiger Export des deutschen Lohnregimes noch eine europäische Lohnkoordination sind gangbare Wege der Problembearbeitung. Es spricht daher wenig dafür, dass der Euro in der Zukunft besser funktionieren könnte als in der Vergangenheit.
