Mittelfristprojektion für Deutschland im Frühjahr 2020 - Potenzialwachstum von Corona-V(irus) kaum berührt

Abstract

Das Wachstum des Produktionspotenzials, also das bei Normalauslastung aller Produktionsfaktoren erzielbare Bruttoinlandsprodukt, lässt zunehmend nach und dürfte in der Mitte des kommenden Jahrzehnts nur noch knapp 1 Prozent betragen. Aufgrund der Alterung der Bevölkerung gehen von der Entwicklung des Arbeitskräfteangebots erst kaum noch positive und zum Ende der Mittelfrist sogar negative Impulse auf das Potenzialwachstum aus. Da die aktuelle Corona-Pandemie unserer Einschätzung nach zwar zu einer scharfen Rezession, aber schnellen anschließenden Erholung in Deutschland führen wird, rechnen wir nicht mit dauerhaften Auswirkungen auf das Produktionspotenzial. Eine länger währende Krise und insbesondere falsche wirtschaftspolitische Reaktionen darauf, können aber das Produktionspotenzial beschädigen.
