Entwicklungstendenzen globaler Wertschöpfungsketten aus Sicht mittelständischer Unternehmen

Abstract

Die Einbindung deutscher Unternehmen in globale Wertschöpfungsketten birgt auch das Risiko, dass sich über sie adverse Schocks aus anderen Volkswirtschaften auf Deutschland übertragen. Auf Grundlage einer eigenen Erhebung wird in der vorliegenden Studie daher untersucht, wie mittelständische Unternehmen im Verarbeitenden Gewerbe in die internationale Wirtschaft eingebunden sind und wie sie auf die sich global verändernden Rahmenbedingungen reagieren. Die Ergebnisse zeigen, dass rund die Hälfte des industriellen Mittelstandes Teil komplexer globaler Wertschöpfungsketten ist. Entsprechend ergreifen die Unternehmen auf breiter Ebene Maßnahmen, um die Stabilität ihrer Wertschöpfungsketten weiter zu gewährleisten. Gleichzeitig werden geopolitische Krisen und Konflikte, denen die Unternehmen selbst nur wenig aktiv entgegensetzen können, mit großer Sorge gesehen. Für die Politik sollte daher gelten, den EU-Binnenmarkt zu stärken und Bürokratie weiter abzubauen.
