Welthandelsrecht und Sozialstaatlichkeit: Globalisierung und soziale Ungleichheit

Abstract

Die vorliegende Untersuchung widmet sich der Frage, wie in Zeiten großer globaler und wachsender inländischer sozialer Ungleichheiten Sozialpolitik in den OECD-Staaten möglich bleibt, zugleich aber auch in den Entwicklungs- und Schwellenländern erst im vollen Sinne möglich wird. Da das Welthandelsrecht einen globalen Freihandel schafft, der seinerseits zu einer globalen Standortkonkurrenz und damit einem latenten Kostensenkungsdruck führt, welcher gerade als Druck auf sozial- und umweltpolitische Regulierungen erscheint, ist dies keine einfache Thematik. Die Parallelproblematik für den Umweltbereich haben wir im Auftrag des BUND e.V. 2007 untersucht und verfolgen sie gegenwärtig in einem Forschungsprojekt zur langfristigen Klimapolitik für das Bundesumweltministerium weiter.
