Abstract

The aim of this paper is to assess whether the asian crisis have effectively exerted an effect on Export Dynamics in CEMAC. The Method used into the literature consists on testing structural break into the Export equation this one considered as the effect of a Major Event. The literature uses second generation panel cointegration test to give accurate to this result. Given that the Export equation is linear we relie here on the well known CUSUM and CHOW test of structural Break. According to the obtained results there is evidence that the asian crisis in 1997 as well as the CFA Franc devaluation in 1994 have exerted an effect on Export Dynamics in CEMAC. As the Vision 2030 have the goal to transform African countries as middle-income economies in general called emergent economies this one (Vision 2030) could benefit from this study with an knowledge of the effect of Major Event on Export performance.
