Inmigración y población latina en los Estados Unidos: un perfil sociodemográfico

Abstract

En este texto se describe la evolución y características de la población de origen hispano residente en los Estados Unidos. A partir de datos oficiales y otras fuentes secundarias se detalla y analiza su evolución en las últimas décadas, los rasgos sociodemográficos más destacados, las principales tendencias observadas y otros aspectos de interés. Ello nos permitirá esbozar el perfil prevalente de este variado conjunto, su posición social y los procesos en los que están inmersos. Abstract This paper describes, in broad terms, the features of Hispanic population in the US. Official data and other sources have been compiled to describe and analyze their evolution, sociodemo- graphic characteristics and main trends in the last few decades. This analysis will lead us to draw the prevailing profile of this heterogeneous group and their position within the North American society.
