Retornos de la educación pública y privada: Inferencia asintótica y bootstrap en medidas de desigualdad

Abstract

El presente trabajo muestra, en base a evidencia empírica, que las diferencias entre la educación pública y privada han acentuado en el tiempo la desigualdad de ingresos existente en Bolivia. Inicialmente, se realiza un análisis descriptivo de las diferencias en calidad, infraestructura y cobertura entre la educación pública y privada. Posteriormente, empleando técnicas microeconométricas y tests de hipótesis bajo Bootstrap, se verifica que las diferencias entre ambos tipos de educación son significativas para explicar una parte de la desigualdad de ingresos generada entre 1999 y 2006 en Bolivia. Adicionalmente, se aplican el método Bootstrap Moon para asegurar la robustez de los resultados.
