Entre intention stratégique et action : comment accompagner au mieux le dirigeant de PME ?

Abstract

Mieux comprendre les PME, qui constituent la très grande majorité du tissu économique, passe par mieux en comprendre le dirigeant, à la fois central mais paradoxalement très isolé. Dès lors, la vision stratégique est d'autant plus délicate à formuler que le dirigeant est le plus souvent happé par des considérations opérationnelles de court terme. Le recours à une prestation d'accompagnement peut alors aider le dirigeant dans son rôle, sans perdre de vue la spécificité de ce type de prestation dans les PME. Notre étude exploratoire propose d'examiner, au-delà de la réalisation de la mission confiée par le dirigeant à un consultant, avec des résultats concrets attendus-sous forme d'une solution trouvée à un dysfonctionnement constaté-quels sont les effets induits de cette mission sur le dirigeant de PME lui-même. Elle s'appuie sur cinq PME, de divers secteurs d'activité, qui ont fait l'objet d'un accompagnement socio-économique sur une durée de deux ans. Dans un premier temps, nous reviendrons sur les spécificités de la PME et leurs conséquences sur la vision stratégique et les prestations d'accompagnement qui y sont liées. Nous présenterons ensuite le contexte et le design de la recherche. Puis nous terminerons par les résultats, notamment caractérisés par la prise de distance, multidimensionnelle, qu'opère le dirigeant à l'occasion de l'accompagnement et par l'effet de redynamisation entrepreneuriale ainsi procuré.
