Abstract

Le contrôle des armements et le désarmement sont souvent des voies proposées par les partisans de la paix. Les dépenses militaires sont jugées improductives, mais elles peuvent parfois créer une situation de paix favorable au développement économique. Cependant, les économistes ne formulent pas d'analyse unique d'un processus de désarmement, entre ceux qui estiment que le développement économique ne peut se faire pour un pays sans des relations de sécurité et de puissance avec les autres pays et ceux qui considèrent que le développement économique par le marché est un facteur de paix à long terme. S'il fallait d'interroger sur le statut de science de l'économie, les questions de guerre et de paix permettent de s'interroger sur la pertinence de cette considération.
