Abstract

Les ouvrages de Cahuc et Zylberberg (2004a, b), constituent ensemble une somme de référence en économie du travail. L'un (2004a), conçu pour les étudiants et les chercheurs, fournit le détail des travaux analytiques et empiriques les plus récents. L'autre (2004b), destiné à un public plus large, constitue un plaidoyer argumenté en faveur d'une analyse dynamique de l'offre de travail. Ce dernier constitue aussi une invitation, implicite mais réelle, à reprendre les fondements théoriques d'analyses anciennes dédiées à comprendre la complexité des relations entre l'offre et la demande de travail dans des économies imparfaitement coordonnées. L'un et l'autre nous parviennent à point nommé alors que le débat sur les réformes des règles régissant le marché du travail en Europe se fait de plus en plus pressant dans un contexte où les instruments de politique macroéconomique sont censés devoir être neutralisés.
