Complejidad del Tejido Institucional Local y Estrategias de Desarrollo Económico: El Caso de la Región de Atacama (Chile)

Abstract

El trabajo describe las características del tejido institucional local entendido como el patrón de conectividad inter-institucional, para la Región de Atacama, Chile. Se discuten tipos estrategias de desarrollo local compatibles con el patrón de conectividad observado, caracterizadas como combinaciones de capital social cohesivo/conectivo, de capital social transversal o de capital social conectivo. Los hallazgos del trabajo muestran que en el caso de estudio la estructura es tipo centro periferia, lo que es compatible con una estrategia que combina capital social cohesivo/conectivo y la evidencia no apoya la selecci¢n social como mecanismo relevante. Los resultados son relevantes para clasificar la consistencia entre condiciones de entrada de la comunidad regional bajo an lisis y la estrategia de desarrollo local que se aplica. De esta forma, la acción de las agencias públicas y de las organizaciones empresariales puede ser orientada de mejor manera para potenciar sinérgicamente los esfuerzos pro desarrollo económico que se desarrollan.
