Kürzere Bezugshöchstdauern von ALG und Effekte auf die Eintritte in Arbeitslosigkeit

Abstract

Im Februar 2006 verkürzte der Gesetzgeber die maximale Bezugsdauer des Arbeitslosengeldes für ältere Arbeitsnehmer von zuvor bis zu 32 Monaten auf 18 Monate. Kurz vor der Reform wurden relativ viele ältere Arbeitnehmer arbeitslos; nach dem Inkrafttreten waren es hingegen deutlich weniger als vor der Reform. Das ZEW, das IAB und die Nottingham School of Economics haben die Effekte dieser Reform auf die Eintrittsraten der betroffenen Personengruppen in Arbeitslosigkeit genauer untersucht.
